6. Cookies & Tracking

How we ask depends on where you visit from. If you are in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a consent banner lets you choose which optional cookies we may use before any are set. If you visit from anywhere else, the analytics, marketing, and functional cookies described below are active by default, and you can turn any of them off at any time. In both cases your choice is stored in a first-party cookie (piptrend_consent, kept for 12 months) and can be changed at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer. Withdrawing consent also removes the related cookies. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal: if your browser sends it, marketing cookies stay off unless you enable them yourself. To determine your region we check the country of your connection once; only the resulting two-letter country code is kept in your browser.

Always active (no cookies):

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-preserving traffic measurement. It stores no personal data and uses no cookies or persistent identifiers, so it runs without consent.

  • Embed analytics on our free calculators. When another website embeds one of our calculators, we count that the widget loaded, keeping only the date, which calculator it was, and the embedding site’s domain name. We use this to see which sites feature our tools. It sets no cookies, writes nothing to your browser, and records no IP address, browser details, page address, or anything else about you as an individual, so it runs without consent. It also honors the Do Not Track browser signal.

Analytics (consent-managed, see above):

  • Google Analytics 4, aggregate usage statistics with IP anonymization (cookies: _ga and related)

  • Microsoft Clarity, anonymized session replays and heatmaps that help us improve usability (cookies: _clck, _clsk)

Marketing (consent-managed, see above):

  • Meta Pixel (_fbp), TikTok Pixel (_ttp), Reddit Pixel (_rdt_uuid), and the Google Ads tag (_gcl_au), used to build advertising audiences and measure campaigns on those platforms

Functional (consent-managed, see above):

  • A first-party cookie (piptrend_exp) that remembers which version of a page you saw while we compare page variants

You can additionally disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function properly.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to fulfill our legal obligations and business operations. You may request deletion at any time.

8. International Users

If you are accessing the Service from outside the EU, please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries where data protection laws may differ. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

Cookie behavior also depends on your region: optional cookies are opt-in in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, and on by default with an opt-out everywhere else. See section 6 for details.

9. Children’s Privacy

PipTrend is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that we have done so, we will take steps to delete such data.

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service implies acceptance of the revised terms.
